HIMTEX 2026 Hyderabad: Dates, Trade-Only Entry Rules & Exhibitor Deadlines

HIMTEX 2026 — the 9th Hyderabad International Machine Tool & Engineering Expo — runs 20–24 August 2026 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad, across Halls 1, 2, 3 and 4, from 10:00 to 18:00 daily.

One thing to settle before you plan anything: this is a trade-only show. Entry is restricted to business visitors, and children under 18 are not permitted. That single rule disqualifies a lot of casual visits, and it's buried in the exhibitor manual rather than the marketing.

The organiser's own exhibitor manual states entry is open to business visitors only and that children below 18 years are not allowed. Practical consequences:

• Register in advance through the official visitor registration rather than assuming walk-in access.
• Carry business identification — a company card or letterhead is the difference between entry and a wasted trip for anyone whose registration is questioned.
• Don't plan it as a family outing. A machine tool hall running live demonstrations is a genuine safety environment, which is why the age rule exists.

If you're a student hoping to attend, work through your institution or an exhibiting company rather than turning up.

The exhibit scope is broad but coherent — this is a metalworking and manufacturing show, not a general industrial fair:

• Machine tools: lathes and CNC machines, machining centres, EDM, drilling and boring, milling and grinding, gear cutting, sawing and cutting, special purpose machines
• Forming and pressing: hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic presses, shearing and bending, sheet metal, cold forging, foundry and forging machines
• Tooling: cutting and abrasive tools, drills, reamers, chucks, tool holders, hand and pneumatic tools
• Automation and robotics: assembly systems, industrial robots, sensors, actuators, encoders, motion control
• Measurement: metrology, measuring and testing instruments, advanced vision systems
• Software and digital: CAD/CAM, related IT and consultancy, AI/ML for manufacturing, AR/VR-based and cloud-based solutions

The notable 2026 addition is the DiFact Pavilion (Digital Factory Pavilion), focused on Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, industrial IoT, AI, robotics, automation and digital transformation. If your reason for attending is digital rather than metal-cutting, that pavilion is the reason to come.

Strong fit: production and plant heads sourcing equipment, MSME owners comparing machines before capex, procurement teams from automotive, aerospace and defence suppliers in the Telangana–Andhra industrial belt, and distributors looking for representation deals.

Weak fit: anyone hoping for conference-style content. This is a floor show built on live machinery demonstrations and supplier conversations, not a keynote programme. If you want talks, look elsewhere.

The genuine advantage of a regional show like this over a national one is access: senior people from exhibiting companies are reachable in a way they usually aren't at larger fairs, and live demos let you watch a machine actually cut before you commit budget.

If you're exhibiting rather than visiting, the operational timeline matters more than the marketing:

• Mezzanine construction plans: submit before 14 July 2026 (mezzanines attract 50% additional participation charges)
• Bare-space booth design and construction plans: submit for clearance before 24 July 2026
• Bare-space stall possession: from 19:00 on 17 August 2026
• Shell scheme stall possession: from 08:00 on 19 August 2026
• Show close: 18:00 on 24 August 2026; all materials cleared by 12:00 noon on 25 August 2026

Two rules that catch first-time exhibitors: possession is only granted once all dues are cleared (no cash or cheque at the venue), and at least 30% of your stand must stay free with a minimum one-metre clearance between machines for visitor movement and demonstration safety.

Appointed contractors must register with the organisers, submit an undertaking and pay a refundable security deposit that scales with executed area — from ₹50,000 for up to 100 sqm to ₹10,00,000 above 2,000 sqm.

Promotional material describes HIMTEX as Central India's largest machine tool and engineering expo and cites access to 25,000+ qualified trade visitors. Both are organiser and PR positioning rather than audited figures, so weigh them as marketing.
